CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY
Nowadays, we’re surrounded by an overwhelming amount of information from all directions social media, news outlets, and entertainment platforms. But not everything we read or watch is necessarily true. Critical thinking helps us look beyond the surface. It encourages us to ask: ¿Who is sharing this message? ¿What’s their purpose? ¿What evidence do they provide? At the same time, media literacy trains us to recognize fake news, biased perspectives, and content designed to mislead us. It’s not about rejecting everything it’s about learning to evaluate before believing or sharing. By strengthening these skills, we not only gain a better understanding of the world, but we also become more responsible digital citizens especially in bilingual contexts, where interpretation can shift meaning. Instead of just consuming information, let’s start examining it carefully. The truth is often right in front of us we just need to learn how to see it.
